I am passionate about creating environments where people meet their potential. Ever since my teenage years, I have looked to satisfy this passion through sports coaching and have continued to do so for over twenty-five years.
It wasn’t until I discovered “Coaching” was a label that could be used outside the sporting environment that I was able to identify and label my approach to leading others and the associated coach methodology. Through studies, experiences and commitment to the cause I have consciously enhanced my leadership technique over the last fifteen years, both at work and in the sports environment, to align with the Coach Approach. Today I label what I do in all aspects, simply as “Coaching".
Personal experience in leadership positions in a variety of fields, organisations and at all levels from frontline to the CEO seat has provided me with a practical understanding of the varied facets of the role and the knowledge that as a leader "you reap what you sow".
Leadership brings many responsibilities and none more important in my eyes than the privilege of facilitating the success of other people. Too many people leave this great earth with potential unfulfilled and I am committed to illuminating this responsibility to leaders and supporting them in meeting it. This passion and commitment has lead to the birth of Spencer Coaching.
It is an honour to work with leaders who are committed to the creation of special environments; where through innovation in leadership and operational approach, people really do fulfill individual and organisational potential.
A warning though – Make no mistake, like the creation of anything really special, the creation of these environments demands a commitment to a difficult journey. Is the journey worth it? – That perhaps is a question for your people, your clients and your shareholders, who will determine your success and your real return on investment.
